He went on to say the U.S "[doesn't] do torture." Liar.Vice President Cheney said the waterboarding of terrorist suspects was appropriate and that none of the methods used to get information from top al Qaeda members went too far.
In a sweeping interview with ABC News, Cheney argued that the Bush administration’s policies in the war on terror have been “crucial” to keeping the country safe.
“We’ve been able to defeat or disrupt all further attempts to strike the homeland,” Cheney stated. “It’s enormously important.”- TheHill.com

Indictments Dismissed
RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (AP) — A judge dismissed indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on Monday and told the southern Texas prosecutor who brought the case to exercise caution as his term in office ends.Cheney so set this up with Banales.
Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra had accused Cheney and the other defendants of responsibility for prisoner abuse. The judge's order ended two weeks of sometimes-bizarre court proceedings.
Guerra is leaving office at the end of the month after soundly losing in his March primary election.
"I suggest on behalf of the law that you not present any cases to the grand jury involving these defendants," Administrative Judge Manuel Banales said in court while ruling that eight indictments against Cheney, Gonzales and others were invalid.

Cheney Indicted On Prisoner Abuse Charge
McALLEN, Texas — A South Texas grand jury has indicted Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on state charges related to the alleged abuse of prisoners in Willacy County's federal detention centers.
The indictment, which had not yet been signed by the presiding judge, was one of seven released Tuesday in a county that has been a source of bizarre legal and political battles in recent years. Another of the indictments named a state senator on charges of profiting from his position. - Chron.com
