2 Hour Delay (Maybe More?)

Wakefield Public Schools has a two hour delay scheduled for Monday, December 22nd due to icy road conditions.

In the event the weather conditions worsen, school may need to be canceled. If this occurs, the local news stations will be contacted to disseminate this information to the community.

Please check the list of school closings in the A.M. - Wakefield Public Schools
How could conditions possibly worsen?

Bummer

Last year on December 17, we got a 90 minute delay for a very low amount of snowfall. Not the case this year even though we did get about 1-2 inches. Not very surprising, eh?

Snow Day Update

No, no, no. First, we're going to have school tommorow. However, when there is a delay:

Delayed openings will be 2 hours this year. Students will report to homeroom at 9:30 AM. - WHS Update

Landers Finally Closes School

I was getting nervous. Melrose, Reading, Saugus, and Stoneham -- all closed. For all of you who have tests and such due tommorow, you are lucky sons of a gun.

Big Storm Set To Hit Monday Morning

A nor'easter will be hitting the Boston area early Monday morning. How many inches will it bring? As of 5:25 PM (Sunday) here are a few predictions:

AccuWeather: 5-11 Inches
WBZ 4: 10-15 Inches
The Boston Channel: 8-10 Inches
NECN: 10-14 Inches

The real heavy snow will be falling after 1 AM, which means that we shouldn't be having school. We still probably will and an early release is incredibly unlikely.

Forecast: School Tommorow

With only 1-3 inches total expected, I can assure you that we will have school tommorow. I believe that we've had school with as much as five inches of snow on the ground. One of our snow days last year came on a day when we barely got anything (I think?)

Edit: According to the official Wakefield Public School website, there is a 90 minute delay for today. That means that those of us who didn't do their homework last night have an extra 90 minutes to do it, but it also means an extra 90 minutes of sleep for those who need it.
