Clinton Speech Aims At Unity

Denver – Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said virtually all the right things in her speech at the Democratic National Convention Tuesday.

She called Sen. Barack Obama “my candidate.” She urged Democrats to unite as “a single party with a single purpose.” And in a plea to her fiercest supporters, some of whom say they will vote for Republican John McCain over Senator Obama in November, she asked whether they were “in this campaign just for me” or for the good of Americans.

Again and again, the crowd inside the Pepsi Center here roared. Delegates hoisted official signs with “Hillary” on one side and “Unity” on the other. But were her words enough to heal a divided party? - Christian Science Monitor

Election update

RICHMOND, Aug. 13 -- Mark R. Warner, the former Virginia governor and a candidate for the U.S. Senate, will deliver the keynote address the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Democratic party officials announced Wednesday.

I've never heard of this guy before, but that could change. After all...

It was the convention's keynote speech four years ago that launched presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama to national prominence.

I Hate Democrats More Than Republicans

They both suck, but the Democratic Party recently added this little convolution to their platform:

"The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right."

Democrats for Life, a well intentioned, yet feeble minded group, hasn't insisted upon changing the platform, causing some concern.
