WAKEFIELD — Rising costs of fuel and increasing use of credit cards, that many drivers now use to purchase their gasoline, are causing independent gas station owners to close up shop. Credit card firms charge a fee to the stations.I wonder how in the world the new owners will be able to compete with Irving. I can't imagine the new owners will be able to keep the place profitable. I might be wrong though.
