Rwanda Accuses France

Rwanda formally accused senior French officials on Tuesday of involvement in its 1994 genocide and called for them to be put on trial.

Among those named in a report by a Rwandan investigation commission were former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and late President Francois Mitterrand.

Kigali has previously accused Paris of covering up its role in training troops and militia who carried out massacres that killed some 800,000 people, and of propping up the ethnic Hutu leaders who orchestrated the slaughter. - Yahoo News!

Young Man Decapitated In Manitoba

A 40-year-old man is in custody in Manitoba after a young man was stabbed — and, witnesses said, decapitated — aboard a Greyhound bus travelling through the province overnight.

"When we came back on the bus, it was visible at the end of the bus he was cutting the guy's head off and pretty much gutting him up," said Caton.

The attacker ran at them, Caton said, and they ran out of the bus, holding the door shut as he tried to slash at the trio.

"While we were watching the door, he calmly walks up to the front with the head in his hand and the knife and just calmly stares at us and drops the head right in front of us," said Caton - CBC

As one Canadian remarked to me: "Manitoba is so boring that the only fun thing left to do is to start cutting each other's heads off."

JonBenet's Family Cleared

BOULDER, Colo. - Prosecutors cleared JonBenet Ramsey's parents and brother Wednesday in the 1996 killing of the 6-year-old beauty queen and told the family they were "deeply sorry" for putting the Ramseys under a cloud of suspicion for more than a decade. The district attorney said new DNA tests point to a mysterious outsider.

"To the extent that we may have contributed in any way to the public perception that you might have been involved in this crime, I am deeply sorry," Boulder County District Attorney Mary Lacy wrote in a letter to the little girl's father, John Ramsey. "No innocent person should have to endure such an extensive trial in the court of public opinion."

Lacy said new "touch DNA" tests on skin cells that were left behind on JonBenet's long underwear point to an "unexplained third party" and not a member of the family.

John Ramsey, a software entrepreneur who now lives in Michigan, said Wednesday he is hopeful the killer will be found based on the DNA evidence. - Yahoo!

Entwistle Tape

WOBURN, Mass. -- Jurors in the trial of a British man accused of killing his wife and baby daughter have listened to a tape recording of him saying he had "not done the right thing" by flying home to England without calling police.

Neil Entwistle is accused of fatally shooting his wife, Rachel, and their 9-month-old daughter, Lillian Rose, in their Hopkinton home in January 2006.

On Friday, prosecutors played a 2-hour recording of a telephone interview Entwistle had with a state trooper from England. Entwistle cried as he told the trooper that he discovered the bodies of his wife and daughter, fatally shot in bed together, after returning home from doing errands. He said he should have called police, but "just couldn't get it clear" in his head. - WHDH

20-year-old pleads not guilty to murder

A lawyer for the man accused of killing an off-duty Revere police officer told
the media today that his client was not the shooter and charged investigators
with abusing their power, in one instance making a "false statement" in a search
warrant affidavit.
"We saw an investigation marred by wholesale speculation,
with the police barging into people’s homes without a warrant, knocking down
doors, and intimidating witnesses," defense attorney Peter Krupp said in a
statement he read to reporters outside Chelsea District Court. "One has to
question the validity of information gathered through such tactics."
In a
courtroom packed with Revere officers in blue uniforms with black tape over
their badges, Robert Iacoviello Jr., 20, pleaded not guilty.

Daniel Talbot was shot in the head. Prosecutors say Iacoviello and some other men were involved in a heated exchange with Talbot and other off-duty officers that eventually lead to Talbot's death.

FBI=pwned

A federal judge, in a scathing rebuke of the FBI, ordered the government to pay a record $101.7 million for its role in wrongfully sending four men to prison for a 1965 gangland murder in Chelsea.

The FBI withheld evidence that the men had been framed, those Nazis.

Police focus on family's info on killing

Police investigating the fatal shooting of 8-year-old Laquarrie Jefferson are focusing intently on the family's explanation of how the shooting unfolded, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

The family has been extensively questioned about the events leading up to the death at 11:30 at a Seaver Street apartment.
