30%: Gov't Should Limit Celebrity Pay
While a great deal of public anger is focused at corporate executives these days, Johnny Depp and the Boys of Summer don’t fare much better. Thirty percent (30%) of Americans believe the government should make it illegal to pay movie stars and athletes more than $1 million per year.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 59% oppose government pay limits for film stars and jocks.
There is a more support—but not much more--for capping the pay of corporate executives. Thirty-six percent (36%) say the federal
government should make it illegal to pay any executive more than $1 million a year. The majority (54%), however, disagree. - Rasmussen Reports
Limiting economic freedom. Ahhhh!!!!

Evolution Acceptance Chart
Source: Gallup Poll
As you can see, America ranks 33rd with a 39% acceptance rating. I wouldn't buy too much into it since they polled only 1,484 people living here.

99% of Brazil is "Homophobic"
BRASILIA, February 13, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Brazilian government has determined that 99% of its citizens are "homophobic," and therefore must be reeducated, according to the Brazilian newspaper O Globo.
The results are taken from a study that tested for "homophobia" by asking people to comment on such statements as "God made men and women with different sexes so that they could fulfill their role and have children." The 92% of Brazilians who agreed partially or completely with the statement were labeled "homophobic."
Another test question for "homophobia" was, "Homosexuality is a sin against the laws of God." Fifty-eight percent of Brazilians agreed.
Those who agreed partially or completely that "Homosexuality is an illness that should be treated" (41%) were also labeled "homophobic," as were those who objected to homosexuals kissing and hugging in public (64%).
That's terrible criteria.

New Poll
Is Sean Fitzpatrick innocent or guilty? A verdict for the re-trial could be reached sometime this week.
-----
From the Boston Herald:
WOBURN — A jury has started deliberating the case of a New Hampshire man charged with killing his ex-lover’s husband and another man at a Wakefield business.
Sean Fitzpatrick is accused of fatally shooting Michael Zammitti Jr. in March 2006 after Zammitti’s wife ended their relationship. Zammitti was the owner of Allstate Concrete Pumping.
Prosecutors say Chester Roberts, an employee of the company, was shot when he happened to enter the room at the wrong time.

The Debate
Is there such a thing as "American food?"I would say yes, but you have to be careful what you call "American food." It's a smart idea to research the origin of the foods in question.

49-51 No/Yes Vote On Closing Gitmo
Nearly half of U.S. voters (49%) say the United States should not close the terrorist prison camp at Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba, but the identical number (49%) also say Barack Obama is Very likely to close it in the first year of his presidency.
Only 32% of voters say the Guantanamo prison camp should be closed, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. One-out-of-five (19%) are undecided. - Rasmussen Reports
Yet another case of people being widely misinformed.

Gallup: Obama On Top 45% to 43%
McCain and Obama have been nearly tied in Gallup Poll Daily tracking for a full week. This sets the stage for a potential shift in the structure of the race resulting from next week's Democratic National Convention. Even an average "convention bounce" for Obama (a 5-point increase in his support) would give him a significant lead over McCain. (To view the complete trend since March 7, 2008, click here.) Obama's support has not gone above 49% in any Gallup Poll Daily report since Gallup began tracking the Obama-McCain race in early March. However, given the Democratic advantage in national party identification, 50% or better support for Obama would seem to be within reach. Of course, the Republican convention starts four days after the close of the Democratic convention and could make any Democratic convention bounce for Obama short-lived.

52% of Americans Would Choose Death
July 15, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - More than half of people in the US would rather be dead than disabled says a new survey. A US website for disabled people ran the survey which asked, "Which would you choose: Living with a severe disability that forever alters your ability to live an independent life, or death?" 52 per cent of the respondents chose death.
The survey, run by the online community and website Disaboom, found that differences in attitude toward disability were based on age, income, geographic location, and level of education. 63 percent of younger Americans chose death over disability, while of those of the so-called "boomer generation" (people between the age of 55 and 64 years) 50 percent chose death. 56 percent of Americans 65 and older would rather die than live with a disability.
Those with more education and higher incomes were more likely to choose death and the numbers were slightly lower, 45 percent, in the southern states. 57 percent of those with a college education said they would rather die than live with a severe disability, while only 30 per cent of respondents who have not completed a high school education chose death. - LifeSiteNews
We live in a culture of death no doubt.

Hurry Up, The Poll Is Closing Soon!
The obnoxiously obscene poll of the week is closing in less than 24 hours; this is just a friendly reminder for all you guys (and girls) you haven't voted yet to do so. The poll was designed (albeit randomly) for mainly males to answer, but female readers...you can vote as well. To say the least, I am surprised at the results so far.

One poll closed, another opened...
It's official... Glen is NOT a raving lunatic. But how about the only Étudiant writer who's posted more than he? He has a harmonica in his pocket. He has a handkerchief in his other pocket. He's been called everything from "nut job" to "total goon", "funny", "the weirdest kid I know", and "alien." He writes about himself in the third person. Is Ben Tan, no, enough of this... Am I insane? Vote in the poll on the right, because if I'm declared insane by the people, I'll check myself in.

He's.......Not Insane!
In a recent WÉ poll, writer Glen was deemed not crazy. Even though 6 out of 16 voters did vote the 17 year old junior as being insane, the other 10 obviously did not. Glen wants to take this time to extend his appreciation to the 10 people who voted "No." In the end, radical viewpoints and insanity were found to be not at all directly correlated.
