When the Mormon church creates, funds and airs political ads that seek to take away the rights people already have, it loses its right to cry foul if someone points that out (“Gays target Mormons,” Dec. 3). What Jonah Goldberg fails to realize is that those “wealthy gay liberals” (and boundless others against Prop. 8) are still taxed, while the Mormon church is not. “Religious freedom of conscience” has nothing to do with interfering with politics; if the Mormon church wants to be involved in politics, it has to follow the rules.
