Glen's Top 10 Songs of All Time

10. Animal Collective - Peacebone - Experimental to the maximum degree, this song is as catchy as they come. Geologist perfectly mixes this track with a plethora of hallucinogen-esque effects.

9. Arctic Monkeys - Space Invaders - "Baby, baby, your good old days have died" features not only great lyrics (which I just wrote), but one of the best guitar solos I have ever heard.

8. Babyshambles - Fuck Forever - This song is considered controversial due to its title and raunchy lyrics, but forget about those silly nit-pickings and you will discover a heavy guitar playing to Pete Doherty's licentious vocals.

7. Daniel Johnston - True Love Will You Find In The End - A tear-jerker, this song is simple at the base, but rife with beauty and inspiration within.

6. Editors - Blood - A danceable tune with a catchy synth and drum, this song shows the excellent coalescence of a song with serious/sad lyrics and one with an energetic rhythm.

5. Joy Division - Dead Souls - Yesterday, some lame ass thieve stole Ian Curtis' gravestone. What a dick, but anyway back to this song. Electronic punk, if that is even possible, is what you hear in this song. Curtis seems angry, but that might just be his deep voice taking over.

4. New Order - Temptation - A pop song -- there is no getting around this -- that is addictive. I simply don't know how else to put it.

3. Peter Bjorn and John - Objects Of My Affection - This song rivals "True Love Will Find You In The End" as the greatest love song of all time. Don't be afraid to blast this noisy hit -- you might break your ear drums, but it is well worth it.

2. Pixies - Debaser - Noise rock infused with pop. This song isn't just good...it is the second greatest song of all time!

1. The Libertines - Death On The Stairs - Punk rock music. The best.
I know, I know, I left out so many of my favorites. If I had to choose ten songs to listen to for the rest of my life, I would choose these. It was tough.

  1. Good picks Glen! But, Joy Division isn't Punk. They're generally considered Post-Punk. Also, I'm confused by what you mean about "noise rock" in Debaser. It' a pretty clean recording, the noise comes from good old Charles himself. It's a solid pop song.
