We shouldn't elect somebody based on their biography. Would you want your surgeon to be somebody who was hired based on their biography or their ability? Sotomayor is playing the Latina card. And Obama, who was also elected based on his biography, loves to use it.

I wouldn't say she's playing the Latina card as much as everyone else is from Obama to the media to the masses that support her. I don't know too much about her statement on white men, but it could've been taken out of context, because such quotes often are. But, that could simply just be her opinion.
