Vets are 1/4 of the homeless population

WASHINGTON --Veterans make up one in four homeless people in the United States, though they are only 11 percent of the general adult population, according to a report to be released Thursday.

Here's the really sad part. Those veterans aren't just middle-age or elderly guys, like the guy in the photo, Vietnam vet Lonnie Bowen Jr. Young veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq are trickling into homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
