Americans move towards public transportation

NEW YORK (Reuters) - More Americans are leaving their cars at home and jumping on buses, trains, and trolleys as retail gasoline prices approach $4 per gallon, according to a report released Monday by the American Public Transportation Association.

Or, if you're Brian Hickey, you ride your bike all the way from Greenwood to the West Side and back.

  1. Public transport is underdeveloped in the USA. More clearly: it sucks. The few places where it is of any quality use it very well. In New York City, 75% of the population does NOT own a car.
