Election update

More than 400 people paid $1,000 apiece for the chance to hear Sen. Barack Obama during his first visit to Detroit since July 2007.

You gotta admit, even if you don't like Obama's political views...his speeches sure are worth a listen.
A couple hundred more paid $2,300 apiece for a private reception with Obama and former Vice President Al Gore, who flew to Detroit today to officially endorse Obama at a rally at Joe Louis Arena this evening.

The fund-raiser at the Detroit Renaissance Center featured the political and business elite of metro Detroit who have been anxious for the presumptive Democratic nominee to make his first foray into the city after appearances in Macomb, Oakland and Kent counties in recent weeks.
