School Department "irresponsible"

Wakefield's monetary situation just gets better and better.
WAKEFIELD — Finance Committee Chairman Daniel Sherman is prepared to state at the opening session of Town Meeting this Monday, April 7 that the School Department is acting irresponsibly by not trimming their FY’09 budget from $28.1 million to $25.4 million.
“We do not have the money to fund their request for $28.1 million,” he said yesterday. “The way things are headed, we may need five or six meetings.”
A second session of Town Meeting is set for Thursday, April 10.
“I plan to tell Town Meeting that the $28 million budget request is fiscally irresponsible,” Sherman added.
