Deborah Kerr dead at 86

Deborah Kerr, the elegant, red-headed actress best known for her roles in The King and I and From Here to Eternity, died Tuesday (10/16) of Parkinson's disease in Suffolk, England. She was 86.

Ten years ago I went through a Rodgers and Hammerstein phase and watched all their movies, including the animated remake of The King and I. I thought Kerr was great, and never would have guessed that she mouthed someone else's vocals during her musical numbers. Rest in peace, Anna Leonowens.
